All the projects we are focusing on tonight are tithing funded projects.

Employees of Property Reserve Inc, not ecclesiastical church leaders, used tithing doctrine to plant the seeds of deception and fear at church firesides held all over New Zealand. They solicited political support by passing out forms with scripted messages to fill out and submit to Hamilton City Council. A violation of the separation between church and state.

If you question us you are questioning God.

Transcript of Fireside held at the Sandwich Rd Chapel, 8th September 2012 at 7.00 pm

I have lots of ideas about this project, Brother Money has lots of ideas, Bishop Burton has lots ideas, the first presidency has ideas, the city has some ideas, the community has some ideas. Brothers and Sisters, I want to tell you that the Lord has led this project.

The purpose of this fireside tonight is to show you the results of those efforts and share with you the plans that have been approved by the church and explain where we are now and tell you what we hope to achieve in the future. Then we’ll give you a chance to ask questions.

So the primary goal and objective and this really hasn’t changed from the beginning is to focus on the protection and sanctity of the environment of the Temple. The church hopes to do that by repurposing the former campus site in a way that enhances family life and provides economic vitality to Temple View. So that’s the primary goal.

So what does this have to do with Tithing funds? All the projects we are focusing on tonight are tithing funded projects. All the projects of the church that are tithing funded are handled by the Council of Disposition of Tithing and many of us remember in General Conference, the Auditor that stands up and gives a report from the Council of Disposition of Tithes – that includes the first Presidency, the Quorum of the Twelve and the Presiding Bishopric. Obviously as you work in a Council – whether it’s a Ward or Stake Council, the Council councils and who makes the decision? The presiding authority. So in this case the First Presidency made the decision. They make all decisions. And this project is funded by tithing funds . This project is reviewed by the First Presidency. The First Presidency can’t implement it – there’s only three of them. They turn it over to the Presiding Bishopric and they say, take care of it. The Bishopric implement it.  Bishop Stevenson, Bishop Causee, Bishop Davies are responsible for all church funded projects throughout the world.   All investment properties, all business of the church, all construction of the church, all temples construction, all of this – how do they do all of that? They have to in turn delegate it to some one else. That goes down the line. Bishop Davies has asked us to work on behalf of him. In that process, our assignment is to simply implement the church’s (?) – it’s pretty simple.
